End of NaNoWriMo Wrap Up

It is the last day of National Novel Writing Month and I have to sadly say I did not make the 50K goal. I topped out at about 32K. However, I am not sad only because 1,067 average words a day is a pretty good record for me. Also, I managed to write every single day! I may not have posted every day or posted everything I wrote but that is still awesome. The following is a recap of what I got accomplished this month.

I completed three fics. “The Perks of Unlocked Doors” featuring Sam Winchester and Sheriff Stilinski, a meet-cute featuring an embarrassed by his dad Stiles. I finally finished my Boromir lives because Sam becomes the King of Hell Lord of the Rings Supernatural crossover “The Destiny of a King.” Wow, say that five times fast. And last but not least, I whipped out a Good Omens plot what plot fic “Exuviate” starring snake Crowley and dirty little hedonist Aziraphale.

I posted two new chapters for the Person of Interest Supernatural crossover “Searching the Voids.” I’m about twenty per cent done with (what I hope is) the last chapter so with any luck I will finish it in December. “Can’t Even Sit Straight,” the Alec Trevelyan/Gareth Mallory love story got another chapter. I’m going to revisit Goldeneye and Legends here again soon, maybe watch a few Ralph Fiennes movies. I think I have The Constant Gardener queued up somewhere. This will probably not get finished in December but I will get at least get another chapter out before the end of the year.

Unfortunately, I added to my WIPs again and started two new Star Trek fics. For the Adventures of the Sailing Ship Sam Series, I paired Sam with Leonard McCoy for I’m a librarian, not a… It’s a time travel fic and there may be some demon blood involved, so stay tuned. The other one features my number one ship McCoy/Chekov, and it’s called What Happens in Vegas. I’m excited about this one because it’s got the classic ‘aliens made them do it’ trope and something you would definitely find in Las Vegas, the ‘accidental marriage’ trope.

On an end note, I did do some binge watching this month and I’m back on a Karl Urban characters kick. Now I have a bunch of new plot bunnies because I watched both Doom and all of the new Star Trek movies. I have to say, I’m a little annoyed with FOX television because I also rewatched Almost Human and it was fantastic. For everything that I’ve read so far, it seemed like it was a popular series and the ratings were not bad. It was a shame they ended it after one season. I am sure the story would have picked up in a second season if they had completed some of the story arcs hinted at in the first. However, it does leave a lot of ideas to work with since the world building was fairly vague.

Anyhoo, to all my fellow Wrimos, I hope your words multiplied like rabbits and you made your 50K. For all of us Wrimos who didn’t, you tried and that was admirable in itself!
